Well, I hope you enjoyed the carnival!
It may be more sensible to take up some time describing all the fun on The Common because there is a distinct lack of good news to report on behalf of the cricketers that missed out to go and play their matches.
If you like to read horror stories, you are welcome to log in to the KLCC Website and read full fixtures and match reports... one of them includes the beautiful phrase "more ducks than a David Attenborough documentary"!
In summary:
- 1st XI lost by 10 wickets at Preston: Tom Sambrook (31) and Paul Ashford (29) the main contributors in a total of 104 all out
- 2nd XI lost by 8 wickets to Berkhamsted II: Sam Joyce (36) and E. Xtras (12) the main contributors in a total of 78 all out, whilst Duane Smith was the club's only wicket-taker of the weekend (2-8)
- 3rd XI lost as we had to concede the game due to a lack of availability (although we were frustratingly close)
So, there have been better weekends and there will be better weekends... but I would have thought that we could all agree that in a weekend where we only took 2 wickets, only bowled 2 maidens, scored 6 ducks, scored a combined total of 183-20 and technically scored -8 League Points...
WE COULD DO WITH SOME NEW AND IMPROVED NETS!
Thank you to the members who have already responded... a member of the committee will be in touch very soon... but if you would like to support our efforts to raise £10 000 by donating £25 to sponsor a Saturday Match Ball, please click on the link and select a date: Kings Langley CC: Match Ball Sponsors

A note to players: Senior Training will return this Tuesday between 7 and 8pm if the weather allows... and do update your availability for next Saturday so we can come back fighting.
Keep your eyes on Facebook for the useful stats updates and word-japery.
And I will be in contact with a further update of the KLCC Fantasy League and the KLCC World Cup Prediction Competition via email during the week.
Hope you have a good week and we look forward to seeing you up at the club soon.
Many thanks
