Saturday 10th August - What's On?

09 Aug 2019

Some excellent news to deliver - we are back to three teams again this Saturday following some stirling work from the selection group and a battle between "Team Rizvi" and "Team Lewis" who have almost found a complete third team between them!

The 1st XI host Hitchin, the 2nd XI visit Boxmoor and the 3rd XI host Boxmoor III.  You can expect a full round up of results from last week and this at some point on Sunday or Monday!

Oh, and in case you've missed me, please find this week's Premier League-themed Facebook preview below.

We hope to see you up at The Common soon

Cheers,

Rich

As the league season enters the final 5 games, will our KLCC heroes be inspired by the return of the PREMIER LEAGUE on Saturday?!

The 1st XI are hosting Hitchin on The Common knowing that they need at LEICESTER couple of wins before the season is out... they are at serious risk of a crash and BURN LEY-gue wise.
The captain will be encouraging his batsmen to score heavily... "get what EVER TON you can" and the home fans will be cheering on Junior in particular... "it's time to de-LIVER POOL Ashford".
Senior pros CJ and Braze return to the side, meaning there is a full ARSENAL of bowling options at the skipper's disposal.

For the 2nd XI, captain Rich Davis is a MAN UNITED with his team again after a disrupted season. He will be hoping his players can BRIGHTON his day by fighting like WOLVES to gain a second win of the season on their travels to top of the league Boxmoor.

The 3rd team are also hosting Boxmoor as Dave Barton's SAINTS return to league action after last week's friendly. He will encourage his bowlers..."strain every si-NEW, CASTLE them and send them back to the paVILLAion!"

This also seems like a good opportunity to thank Adam from Inspired for his teas this season. In part, because he thoroughly deserves it... but there is the added bonus it opens up more puns... It is great to see a SHEFF UNITED with his ingredients. It's the perfect mix of sandwiches with cheese, John WEST, HAM etc... The quantity also means the players aren't rushing home asking "WAT-FOR-Dinner?"... although there is a disappointing lack of of CHELSEA buns.

With two home games, we hope to see a big crowd out to support... it really SPURS the players on. You can always stay for a drink afterwards... a reminder that all are very welcome, although we know it can feel a bit like a "MAN CITY" at times.

There will be full update of results on Facebook, the KLCC website and via email... you can ig-NOR WICHever of those you like!
If you need me, I will be somewhere crying that I couldn't find a way of getting in Crystal Palace and Bournemouth without an even bigger crow bar than usual... consider that challenge extended!
