Match report It was a chastening day for Kings Langley 1st XI as they subsided to a comprehensive 10 wicket defeat away at Preston.
Having won the toss and elected to bat, Kings weathered the early loss of Jack Stokes(1) as Paul Ashford (29) and Tom Sambrook (31) dug in and combined well together. When the latter departed it was 48-2 and once Liberty Maher (15) fell next it was 75-3. However, this prompted a flurry of wickets as they fell initially 96-6, before then losing the last 4 wickets for 2 runs to finish on 104 all out from 35.4 overs. Preston bowler, Tim Collins, finished with impressive figures of 6-28 from his 10 overs.
In reply, Preston made light work of their target. Kings Langley failed to make a breakthrough as Balcombe (58*) and Biggs (35*) combined to reach 105-0 in the 23rd over.
