Match report The second half of Kings Langley's 1st XI failed to get off to a flying start as they stumbled to an 87 run defeat as Ickleford visited Vicarage Lane.
Having been asked to field first, Kings Langley faced another tough day at the office in the field as Ickleford amassed a total of 260-7 in their 50 overs. This was underpinned by an unbeaten 107 by number 3, Money. Kings did have Ickleford under a little bit of pressure early on as they stuttered to 55-4 in the 14th over. However, partnerships of 111 and 80 followed. Harry Sambrook (2-33) and Liberty Maher (2-34) were the leading wicket takers, whilst Ricky Mohammed conceded just 32 in an economical 10-over spell.
In reply, newcomer Leighton (23) and Williams (14) got Kings off to a solid start with a 41 run stand. Harry Sambrook anchored the innings with 48 runs but the regular fall of wickets made it hard to keep up with the required run rate. In the end the last few wickets fell cheaply as a last ditch attempt was made to chase down the unlikely target, but the innings reached it's conclusion on 173 all out in the 47th over.
Kings Langley claimed 12 points for their efforts, but Ickleford took home the coveted 30 points.
