Match report Kings Langley fell to a 90 run defeat as they travelled to Old Albanian on Saturday.
Having won the toss and elected to bat, Old Albanian would eventually post a total of 190 before their final wicket fell in the 50th over. The majority of the runs came from two half-centurians but the Kings Langley players stayed patient and never lost control of the run rate. Rob Clark (2-36) picked up the first 2 wickets to fall in the innings. However, it was the introduction of Duane Smith to the attack that started somewhat of a collapse as the innings subsided from 128-2 to 190-10. Duane Smith would eventually finish with figures of 9.1 - 1 - 31 - 5 to earn himself a spot on the Honours Board. Harry Sambrook (2-23) and Ben Joyce (1-43) were the other wicket takers.
In reply, Kings Langley struggled to build any significant partnerships and despite Ricky Mohammed and Sifan Naeem being joint top-scorers with 28 apiece, the innings would ultimately fade out in the 34th over with the score on 100.
The bowling performance earns 10 useful points but with the side in the relegation zone, it would see that 2 or 3 wins are likely to be needed from the final 5 games to guarantee safety in Division One.
