Due to cost-cutting and efficiency measures, your What's On? email is the same as the Facebook preview this week!
The challenge is: WHAT IS THE THEME?! I would encourage you to like, share and comment on our KLCC Facebook Page.
NOBODY can argue that it’s been a TOPSY-TURVY June for Kings Langley but there’s still plenty to be CHEERFUL about on another BUSY weekend at the club.
Things got off to the PERFECT start on Thursday night when the Under 10s put in a no NONSENSE performance to beat a STRONG Chipperfield side to finish their season. The Common will be the usual NOISY and HAPPY scene for Junior Training and All Stars on Saturday morning, before the Senior players RUSH into action on Saturday afternoon.
The 1st XI host Knebworth Park on Saturday with their season having hit a bit of a BUMP in the road with recent results going the WRONG way. Captain Harry Sambrook will be looking for a BRAVE performance from his players… it will not be a day to DAYDREAM in the field… it will be a day we expect grass stains on their SNEEZE. Ben Joyce has been in MARVELOUS form so far this season and the TALL, SKINNY bowler will be looking to put in a MEAN showing with the ball. Hopefully he will make the opposition players WORRY – he will be looking to extract some BOUNCE from the pitch and it certainly won’t be SLOW. Jay Williams also returns and he will be keen to play some CLEVER shots, perhaps a well-placed TICKLE or two down to the fine leg boundary.
The 2nd XI visit Cheshunt Rosedale II this weekend and league survival is already looking like mission IMPOSSIBLE for them. However, this is no time to GRUMBLE… when you’re in a MUDDLE you need to keep a COOL head and embrace the next ADVENTURE. One thing that is certain is that the opposite of SMALL Andrew Colquhoun will be his usual CHATTERBOX self in the field… the batsmen may get out just to find some peace and QUIET. Our batsmen will also need to be GREEDY when they bat, avoid SILLY, CLUMSY mistakes and try to make the fielders DIZZY and their legs turn to JELLY .with all the running around and chasing they are doing under a hot sun!
GOOD luck to both teams and although I’m not FUSSY about how they do it, hopefully they will finish the day with two wins. If they do, I think it will feel like my BIRTHDAY and CHRISTMAS all rolled into one!
There’s SNOW doubt it… if we do get two wins, things could get MESSY with some FUNNY MISCHIEF to be had over a drink. We would obviously never condoning drinking to the point you become FORGETFUL , but perhaps enough to earn yourself a LAZY Sunday. We just ask one thing… if there are celebrations, please leave quietly at the end of the night… we’d hate to give our neighbours reason to be UPPITY.
If you’re NOSEY about how thing fair over the weekend, never fear. It would be RUDE of me not to be in touch with full updates on our website, club email and Facebook at the end of the weekend!
Have a good weekend - hope to see you up the club soon!
