If you want to know what it feels like in my head whilst I'm writing this particular report, you should click on this link!
For the first time in 688 days, since our 2nd team heroes scraped to a 1-wicket win against Holtswhite Trinibis on the 2nd September 2017, I am able to bring you news of a 2nd team victory.
On Saturday, the 2nd XI claimed a 9 run victory against Hatfield & Crusaders II on The Common. Andrew Colquhoun's 40 runs followed by Ashil Raniga's 4-26 and 3-wicket hauls for Duane Smith and Rich Davis helped the 2nd team scrape home by 9 runs in a low-scoring affair.
Elsewhere, the 3rd team couldn't repeat their heroics of the previous week as they fell to an 8-wicket defeat. Dave Barton (37) and Warwick Smith (30) anchored the innings before David Peters produced his best performances for the club with both bat and ball, scoring 25 not out and claiming 2-38.
The 1st team again found it hard going having been asked to bat in wet conditions. Tim Piper did the anchoring for the 1st team with 39 and Elliot Hutchings scored a lively 31 later on. Harry Sambrook picked up 3-35 but the result was a 6 wicket defeat.
There are full match reports attached and the scorecards are already updated on the KLCC Website. You can also find attached the Top 10 batting and bowling performances, an update on the most competitive trophy in town (the duck trophy!) and a comprehensive "Stat Attack" now that we are 11 matches in to the season.
Players, you are cordially invited to update your availability... this is never an easy time of year in terms of availability, it would be incredible if we could put out 3 teams for a 4th week in a row.
In the next few days, I will get myself caught up and give you a more detailed Fantasy League run down, the final results of the World Cup Quiz and details of how to enter 'The Big Ashes Quiz'.
Have a good week!
Best wishes,
Rich
