It is that time of the week again where I try to put a positive spin on a frustrating weekend!
The tone was set when the weather washed out Junior training and All Stars (a further All Stars session will be added on a future date) and it struggled to improve from there.
The 1st team were close but not close enough away at Hitchin, the 2nd team came unstuck after batting first in wet conditions at home to Boxmoor and the 3rd team were once more left without a match after a late concession from their opposition.
Match reports are attached and full scorecards (and the reports) can be viewed by logging on to the KLCC Website.
There were of course some star performances amidst the defeats:
Ben Joyce and Ashil Raniga both top scored and claimed 3 wickets apiece for the 1st and 2nd team respectively. Liberty Maher also claimed 3 wickets and Christian James chipped in with 2 for the 1st team as well.
I have attached the current Top 10 Batting and Bowling Performances for the season... one of the things I have been regularly sharing on our KLCC Facebook Page throughout the season. Keep your eyes peeled on the page this week for a first full update of the 2019 Duck Trophy... after a couple of players made a move for glory this weekend!
The KLCC Fantasy League also continues to be a close run competition after 5 games of the season. The first full update of team scores for all 26 entrants, as well as individual player performances for the season so far is attached too.
The players will obviously resume battle in the Herts Saracens League next Saturday with the 1st team hosting Harpenden II on The Common but there is a busy week of action first.
From a Senior point of view there will be Nets on Tuesday night and a midweek cup game against Hemel Hempstead on Wednesday night.
From a Junior point of view the Under 10s are away at Radlett on Tuesday night and the Under 9s host West Herts on Friday night on The Common - we will get the bar open if we can... details will be confirmed in the weekly "What's On?" email on Thursday night or Friday afternoon.
I hope you have a good week - and we look forward to seeing you up at the club soon.
Many thanks
Rich Davis
