Match report Kings Langley 3rd XI fell to a 9-wicket defeat as they hosted Boxmoor 3rd XI in a team featuring a number of new players, as 5 "Rizvi's" and 4 "Lewis'" made it a family occasion at the Steiner School.
Kings Langley batted first and compiled a more than respectable total of 164-10 in 39 of their 40 over allocation. The innings was anchored by an excellent innings of 85 from Warwick Smith as he jumped into 3rd place on the Top 10 Batting board and became the 2nd player in the club to pass 200 runs for the season. Murtaza Zaidi (20) and Dave Barton (16) were the other main contributors.
In reply, Boxmoor made light work of the total as they knocked off their target in the 20th over for the loss of just one wicket. Murtaza Zaidi claimed the wicket to fall.
It was a great effort to a third team out in a difficult week, and we hope to welcome back the new players again in the future.
