Agrawal takes 4 as 2s bounce back with win

19 Jun 2025

The 2nd team, winless since Week 2 and desperate to get a victory to get their season back on track did exactly that on Saturday. They visited Pinner 2nd XI and were given the opportunity to bat first – and worked hard to compile a score of 164-7 in 40 overs.  Matt Langston with 38 and Sifan Naeem with 22 led the way in the top order – and it was an unbeaten stand of 49 for the 8th wicket between John Battams and Jamie Calvin with 26 and 15 respectively that ensured the total reached where it did.

In reply, early wickets settled the nerves and in the end Pinner would be dismissed for 86 in 21.3 overs.  Recent joiner Meet Agrawal was the star of the show with an impressive 8 over spell of 4 wickets for 10 runs.  Sajid Naeem also picked up 3-15 off 5 and Gautham Venkatasubramanyan claimed 2-27.  Victory by 78 runs and 30 crucial league points.
