This email is for the attention of Senior cricketers - this includes Junior cricketers who are eligible to play for the senior sides.
As you have likely seen, the Government have announced that recreational cricket can be played from this Saturday - that is Saturday 11th July.
We await full guidance from government, the ECB and the Hertfordshire Cricket League - but we intend to play some cricket on Saturday and are hopeful that we may be able to start a shortened league season on Saturday 18th July.
There is planning to be done, but after the initial success of our senior and junior training sessions over the last 10 days, we feel well placed to take all necessary actions to let the fun begin - but in as safe a way as possible.
We are discussing what format is best for Saturday - your action on the survey below will help us to decide this next step.
To help us plan, please can ALL Senior Cricketers take a few minutes to complete this Google Form:
KLCC - Senior Player Survey 2020
This form will enable is to compile a register of contact information for those using the club, decide what is achievable this Saturday, and allow us to provide some club-level feedback to the League... i.e. do we think we can fulfil our fixtures if we start playing.
For transparency, this information will be initially seen and collected by Rich Davis. It will be shared with Committee Members and elected captains as appropriate.
It is important to notes that things will still be far from 'normal' on Saturday as we trial our procedures and implement relevant guidance.
Players, and any visitors to the club, should expect:
- A requirement to sanitise hands before and after cricket
- A strict limit on numbers inside the clubhouse at any given times
- A strict one-way system for use of toilets and bar
- Strictly one person to be allowed behind the bar at any one time
- No use of changing facilities inside
- Cricket teas (if/when available) to be served as individual "packed lunches"
- Card payment only at the bar
- All who use indoor facilities will be required to provide name and contact details.
We are excited to be able to welcome more of our members and players back to The Common from Saturday and hopefully still enjoy some cricket before the summer passes.
If each of you can spare a few minutes to complete the Google Form, it would be massively helpful and time-saving for executive and selection committee members in what has just become a very busy week... we simply don't have time to chase, so please help us out on this one.
Good luck to those netting tomorrow and Thursday - and we will be in touch again as soon as possible with plans for this Saturday.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Rich (on behalf of the Executive Committee)
