Harrison heroics not enough to save 3rd XI

01 Jul 2024

The 3rd XI suffered a bump-in-the-road in their promotion challenge on Saturday as they fell to Hemel Hempstead 5th XI by 60 runs.

A good effort with the ball, led by Marc Burnell (2-31) kept their hosts in check; Hemel Hempstead posting 157-4 from their allocation.

However, in reply, once the openers had fallen, in a weekend where availability had made it challenging to field 4 teams, the chase would prove a step too far.  Jim backed up his 1-27 with the top score of 35 but Kings would be dismissed for 97.

Well done to Nitish Raj who scored 18 and bowled an economical 8 overs and Tom Gilthorpe who picked up 1-32, both making promising contributions on their Kings Langley debuts.
